SPIRALS, CIRCLES

Kabir Kadre

Spirals, Circles,
Fractal torus donuts of awakening,

Lines, levels,
Threads woven together
Pathways into open space.

Earth, very substance of our feet,
Dervish whirling, heart light
Centered on the one.

We come again to this.
Ritual moment together,
Humbled as the change of season…

Today, the northern pole
Seeks the boundless, timeless,
Vastness of space.

The southern sister
Leaning inward, twirling
Towards our solar spark.

In time…

“Our world,”
This germ of life
In the majestic perfection,

Cries out in pain
As evolution twists,
On merciless course.

We hear and we gather, once again in grace,
Performing the rites of community;

Our faces each offer prayer,
Smiles, tears, and stoic observances, all
Nourish, concentrating deep perfection.

Winter’s womb gives quarter
To the blossoms of the spring.
